Our Classes
Joondalup Entertainers Theatre School (JETS) provides a fun and encouraging environment for students to learn skills and make new friends. In every class, our teachers emphasise the strategies and processes involved in learning and self-growth, creating a unique opportunity to prepare our students for life. Our classes are conducted with a primary focus on positivity, self confidence, communication and active learning.
Love of Drama and working with youth have been the motivating factors behind JETS. We are in our 19th year and yet again we feel blessed and confident that this year promises to be bigger and better. Students have grown with us over the last 19 years and have been very successful in the industry i.e. WAAPA, Short Films, Advertisements, TV series, plays and feature films. We are so fortunate to have so many talented students as part of the JETS family.
Acting

Students will learn performance concepts from popular drama theorists including Meisner, Stanislavski, Brecht and more. Through fun games and confidence building based activities, students will get a chance to explore the ACTceptional world of drama!
Singing
"If I cannot fly, let me sing." - Stephen Sondheim
Taught by professionals currently working in the industry, students will learn the fundamentals of singing in a fun, encouraging environment. Our experienced teachers serve as facilitators of the learning process. They guide students by demonstrating techniques and encouraging them to ask questions.
Hip Hop
"Dance is a conversation between body and soul." - Martha Graham
These classes aim to guide students through the foundations of hip hop and beyond. Students will get the chance to apply skills they learn in a fun and inspirational learning environment. With a selection of teachers that specialise in an array of different dance styles, students are exposed to a variety of techniques.
Musical Theatre

Our musical theatre classes give students the opportunity to combine singing, acting and dance to tell engaging and entertaining stories on stage. Focusing on all aspects of musical theatre performance, students will learn scripts, songs, and routines from popular Broadway and West End musicals. Our instructors make sure everyone gets individual attention while keeping the class engaging and collaborative.
Disability Inclusion

Young people living with a disability are given a platform to express themselves through acting, singing and dancing. Our all inclusive and supportive environment welcomes students of all abilities. Funding bodies may support students in these classes (including NDS, NDIS, and Rocky Bay)
Specialty Classes

These classes are for students looking for an additional challenge. With a focus on more disciplined teaching, students involved in these classes are given the opportunity to perform at community events and competitions.
